On October 20, 2017, the well-known writer Sabine Weigand read

weigand

The novel deals with one of the most dazzling female figures in world history and the eventful life of Eleanor of Aquitaine. In 1137 Eleonore, the most beautiful woman of her time, marries the King of France. But the marriage fails. Eleonore does the unheard of: she divorces. While her name is being pulled everywhere in the dirt, she marries again: Henry Plantagenet, the king of England. She rules with him, stands at the zenith of her power. But how is she supposed to act when Henry cheats on her?

Rarely have the visitors experienced a more entertaining reading at Kulturhaus Leutershausen.
Sabine Weigand tells and reads in such a way that the listener feels transported to the time of Eleonore.

Reading with Gerhard Winkler from Höchstetten

On March 24, 2017, Gerhard Winkler - at the invitation of the city library - read his first work "Die Müllsammlerin" at the Kulturhaus of Ochsenhof.

The Fränkische Newspaper from 27.03. write about the reading:
Listen to a reading for 90 minutes, sounds like boredom that everyone from the Training, the school or the university knows and should therefore be strictly avoided in their free time. The opposite is possible, Gerhard Winkler proved on Friday his audience ..........
The travel novel is the fictitious story of a divorced teacher who wants to experience more in his second half of life than just wait for his aging. It is a multi-faceted narrative call to all of us to live at least part of our dreams instead of sacrificing them to everyday life.

The team of the city library thanks Gerhard Winkler for the nice, entertaining evening.

During this time (1967) he was very interested in pop art and he designed his first pictures in this art direction. Two small exhibitions, a newspaper article and a radio interview were the harvest of his first creative design phase.
In 1984, he met a person who changed his life.
With Bernhard Langwald he got a different understanding of nature, in summer camps he felt that nature have a very healing effect on him.
So in 1988 he decided to give up his previous life and go for a longer time in the nature. He sold his car, broke up his household, quit his job, grabbed his bike and drove to Africa for a year. He slept always outside and cooked by a self-made fire.

He recorded his journey by bicycle to Africa in his book "A Bike Trip to Africa", which can be found in our library. Other books such as "Little stories from my travels and from my life" or a book full of beautiful poems can be found here.
Various figures and colored pictures by Burkhard Rühl are exhibited in our library.

Review of the reading with Walter Langohr

Walter Langohr, born 1941 in Sinnbronn and raised on a farm,
read from his books

"Hooray, we have a Porsche"
"Slotted Ears Long-eared Tracto (h) ren"
"So beautiful, the time was beautiful".

Walter Langohr lives today in Marktheidenfeld. There he worked for 34 years as an agricultural engineer for a company. As a child, the now 75-year-old had experienced in his home village, as in the post-war era, the technology in agriculture introduced. In his books, Langohr tells about this time. The author also reports on the optimism and optimism that prevailed at the time. And again and again the stories are about the arrival of technology in the villages. Hardly to be overlooked is that above all the Bulldogs, who at that time were not tons heavy companions, like for example the "red Porsche", the author grew to the heart. In a humorous way, Langohr spoke of a bygone age, when life in the countryside was hard - but also had more time than today.

Gleaning
Julia Hanel - Author reading on November 20, 2015 in Leutershausen

On the occasion of the 12th national reading day, Julia Hanel read from her debut novel
"Zwei fürs Leben"
in the Kulturhaus of her hometown Leutershausen.

Julia tells in this book the unusual story of Anni and Ben with a lot of humor in a relaxed youthful and unaffected language.

Everything starts with voices in the head. After a bad accident, 20-year-old editor Anni wakes up from her Coma in a hospital. Suddenly she thinks she is out of her mind, she hears a strange voice in her head. Ben, a 30-year-old architect who also had a bad accident, is the one who Anni can talk to in her head.
Anni is very annoyed by Ben. She wants to get rid of his voice. But it develops in the course of time to mutual sympathy. The head talks become more intense. Anni and Ben want to get to know each other ....
The reading was loosened up by the great musical accompaniment of Lukas Hanel, the author's brother.

All visitors are already looking forward to the opening of Julia's new novel, which is almost finished.
She has promised that she will have an invitation again for reading at the Kulturhaus Leutershausen.

We, the library team, thank Julia for the nice evening.

Frankenkrimi on World Book Day
"Review" for reading with Petra Kirsch

On Friday, April 24, 2015, Petra Kirsch read from her thriller "Frankish Schafkopf" and from her new thriller "Mord auf Fränkisch", which will be published in June.

The library team had invited the representative of the Franconian crime genre to a reading in Leutershausen.

2. Mayor Schmaus greeted the author with the right words at the Kulturhaus.

Petra Kirsch made the reading very lively, pointed and with acting talent. The audience immediately found themselves in the midst of Commissioner Paula Steiner's investigation.

During the break, there was a lot of interesting conversation with a glass of sparkling wine and a small snack - also with the author. We thank Mrs. Kirsch for the nice, entertaining reading and her visit to Leutershausen.
