Municipal award; honored by the municipality
Brief description
The municipalities can honor deserving citizens with their own awards.
Description
The awarding of honorary citizenship by the municipal council is the municipality's highest honor.
Former mayors can be awarded the honorary title of "former mayor" or "former mayor".
Other options for honoring deserving citizens may include: honorary gifts, honorary medals, honorary rings and the like.
However, any citizen can also propose a deserving citizen award to the municipality (merits and time spent with the municipality must be presented). Those who nominate themselves cannot be considered.
Prerequisites
In order to be awarded honorary citizenship, the person to be honored must have rendered special services to the municipality itself. These can be merits of a material or non-material nature. The requirements for other honors by the municipality are not generally defined; they can be regulated in a statute.
