Store opening hours; display of an individual shopping night on a working day
Brief description
Owners of a sales outlet in Bavaria may open their store on four individually selectable working days per year for longer than 8 p.m. up to a maximum of midnight. The necessary notification must be submitted to the responsible municipality.
Description
Sales outlets may hold up to four individual open nights on weekdays from 8 p.m. to midnight at the latest. This requires notification to the responsible municipality. The municipality in which the sales outlet is located is responsible.
Points of sale are
- Stores of all kinds,
- stalls and other sales facilities if goods are permanently displayed for sale to the public from a fixed location, and
- Sales facilities of cooperatives.
On the following days an individual open night is not possible:
- on a Sunday and on a public holiday;
- also not on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Holy Saturday, Day of Prayer and Repentance, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve and not on the respective day before Pentecost Sunday, All Saints' Day, Remembrance Day and Sunday of the Dead
