Even in the run-up to the event, many hard-working people were already hard at work. Employees at the municipal maintenance yard prepared the downtown area, while clubs, restaurant owners, and booth operators set up their stalls and displays and got everything ready for the festival weekend. Step by step, these many individual contributions came together to form one big celebration.
The event kicked off on Friday evening with the traditional Old Town Race. A team from the town of Leutershausen also took to the starting line with great enthusiasm and energy, ready to take on the athletic challenge. The focus was above all on having fun and sharing the experience together.
On Saturday, the Old Town Festival was finally officially opened by Markus Liebich, the mayor of Leutershausen. Afterward, visitors enjoyed a varied program featuring one musical highlight after another. Amid a lively festival atmosphere, everyone celebrated, laughed, ate, and raised a glass together in the Old Town.
The festival program continued on Sunday as well. At the city library, an art opening invited visitors to explore the intersection of literature and art. At the Plan, the Kids’ Area provided a variety of activities to keep the youngest visitors entertained. At the same time, the numerous stands and booths once again offered a wide selection of culinary delights and plenty of opportunities for a cozy get-together.
On Sunday evening, a thoroughly successful festival weekend slowly came to a close. But by Monday, it was time to roll up our sleeves again! Working together with the local clubs, the staff at the municipal maintenance yard made sure that all traces of the festival were cleared away and that our city was clean and tidy once more.
A heartfelt and sincere thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2026 Old Town Festival: the clubs, booth operators, restaurant owners, musicians, artists, volunteers, and the staff of our municipal maintenance yard. We’d also like to thank all the visitors who celebrated with us and helped create the special atmosphere in our Old Town. A festival like this thrives on the dedication of many people and shows once again what’s possible when a community pulls together and works to make something happen.
Thank you very much for a wonderful Old Town Festival 2026!
