Municipal awards
Honorary citizenship is the highest award in the town of Leutershausen. It is awarded for outstanding services to the well-being of the town and is limited to three living persons according to the town's honorary statutes.
Hermann Betscher (born in 1934) and Claus Broser (born in 1942) currently hold this honorary title.
Other personalities have already been named honorary citizens in the past:
- Gottfried Blendinger (born 1885, died 1977)
- Stella Randolph (born 1895, died 1980)
- William O'Dwyer (born 1921, died 29.08.2008)
- Retired dean Hermann Schreiber (born 1900, died 1974)
Many of them were honored with street names in the city.
Other municipal awards include the Citizens' Medal, entry in the Book of Honor and the Medal for Special Services in Honorary Office.
