Following welcoming remarks by Herrieder Mayor Patrick Peters and Aurach Mayor Simon Göttfert, chairman of the ILE Altmühlland A6, District Administrator Marco Meier and Wolfgang Neukirchner, director of the Office for Rural Development, delivered remarks in the festival tent. In keeping with German Unity Day, the Neunstetten Music Association ’s brass band then played the national anthem. This was followed by performances by the Romantisches Franken Music School and the Bechhofen Music Forum Big Band. In addition, host Alfons Schock, former mayor of Burgoberbach, provided excellent entertainment as usual.
The Regional Day was preceded by an intensive preparation period involving the ten municipalities participating in the ILE, as well as implementation support from the PLANWERK Stadtentwicklung office in Nuremberg. Since this effort proved worthwhile, plans are being made to hold another Regional Day in two years.
